Combining oats, which are rich in fiber to help you feel full longer, and yogurt, which provides healthy bacteria to your gut, this breakfast can help prevent weight gain and lower some risk factors for diabetes. Best of all, it comes together in minutes, making it perfect for busy mornings: quick, delicious, and nutritious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-or nonfat milk, or milk alternative

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup plain or low-fat yogurt

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 apples, chopped

  • 4 teaspoons cinnamon

  • ¼ cup sun-dried raisins

Preparation

  1. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before you begin cooking. Thoroughly wash all fresh produce.

  2. Combine all ingredients except the apple in a jar or resealable container and give the mixture a good stir.

  3. Cover/seal and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 5 hours.

  4. Before serving, chop and add the apple (and more liquid for a thinner consistency).
