Asparagus is a vegetable that is packed with nutrients including fiber, folate, and vitamin A. Garlic gives the dish a unique flavor, but it also has added health benefits, too! Garlic contains powerful compounds that have been linked with anti-cancer activity. This dish is easy to make and can be added as a side to any meal!

Ingredients
1 pound fresh asparagus (medium width)
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Lemon wedges, as garnish
Preparation
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before you begin cooking. Thoroughly wash all fresh produce.
Preheat oven to 500˚ F.
Rinse asparagus and break off tough ends and mince garlic.
In a shallow roasting pan, place asparagus and coat it with olive oil.
Sprinkle with garlic, salt, and pepper, to taste.
Roast uncovered for 6-10 minutes (depending on the width of the spears). Shake pan occasionally to mix. Serve with lemon wedges.
